Gonzalo Porcel Quero is presently working on his dissertation tentatively entitled "Historical Constructivism: Essays on Memories, Words, Selves".
Gonzalo teaches and writes about international politics, social theory, the influence of history on foreign policy making, the European Union, and the politics of cyberspace. Read more about his research interests here.
He is currently developing a course that explores the links between globalization and the information age with an emphasis on how information technology affects the distribution of power in international politics.
He has received fellowships and awards from the European Union, the School of International Studies at the University of Miami, the University of Granada and American Field Service. He is a member of the International Studies Association and a regular of the "Miami International Relations Theory Group", a consortium of graduate students and faculty from Florida International University and the University of Miami.
During 2000, he was Adjunct Professor of International Relations at Florida International University. More recently, he has shared with Professor Kubálková teaching responsibilities for "Global Perspectives", one of the largest and most successful International Relations courses at the University of Miami.
He earned an MA in International Relations from the University of Miami and a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada, Spain.
